What Is It?
Eclipse on the Mac leaves a lot to be desired. The Maclipse project is aimed at making Eclipse look, feel, and perform in the way we expect of Mac apps. There are several goals of the Maclipse project:
- Modify the default theme of Eclipse to look more like a Mac app
- Modify the default icons of Eclipse to look more like Mac icons
- Tweak the behaviors of SWT widgets to look and behave more like the Mac native widgets
- Bring forward SWT patches from future Eclipse releases to turnaround desirable fixes faster
- ... by any means necessary
If we think something works better, runs faster, or just plain looks cooler than stock Eclipse, we're going to make it happen.

How Do I Install It?
- Install Eclipse 3.5.1 Cocoa (Carbon is no longer supported)
- Download the binary release from http://webobjects.mdimension.com/maclipse/Maclipse-R3.5.1-Latest.zip
- Unzip into eclipse/plugins ... it will replace a bunch of existing plugins
- If this wasn't a fresh Eclipse install, you maybe need to delete your eclipse/configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/bundles folder
- Profit
